Sky Watch

This is my wonderfully cold and blue sky for today's Sky Watch. No, this picture is not from today. This was taken on the closest overpass of I-635 aka Lyndon B. Johnson Freewway. I love this shade of blue.

Thursday Thirteen #26

Thirteen Things since last weekend:

1. I wanted to keep a diary. However, it's challenging when I'd rather be doing something else. Then, I realized that T13 is the perfect diary for things going on with my kiddies. Since this is my chronicles, maybe I should start putting down on paper what goes on.

2. Last Friday, it was a toss up whether we'd end up at the State Fair or at Six Flags. All our students have free ticket from the school. Since it's been ages since I was in a state fair, we went to that one. We load every one in the car and head on downtown.

3. The traffic was so bad, we decided to try the train.

4. Our kids were so excited about the train. The baby wanted a whole seat to himself. His favorite part is the lack of seat belt. He was giddy!

5. We overpaid. It seems like there's no way to get out money back. A day pass is 3 USD, but we thought there was a special shuttle for 5 USD. We bought 5, but the 5th ticket did not print. We bought another, and end up paying 30 dollars for the train. We should have only paid 15.

6. I was shocked! The ticket for adults is $14. It's not like it's Six Flags. That's only pure entrance fee. No rides or anything with it.

7. I was the designated money man, and after paying 28 to go in (each child's ticket is 10 bucks I didn't have to pay). The first thing my children wanted to do was buy food. Food expenses was $100.

8. We spent a long time at the first display building. We stayed around so long, my husband got cranky for a bit.

9. It's difficult to heard 5 children who likes different things, even if those things happen to be in the same building.

10. It was a great time, and we got home close to midnight.

11. We took it easy on Sunday, and watched re-runs of The Simpsons.

12. My husband took the kids, except the baby, to synagogue for Yom Kippur service. They walked home and pass out almost immediately. It's a three mile walk.

13. The baby and I spent quality time sitting on a couch with a book. When that got old, he grabbed a Nintendo with a Brain Challenge game, and I read THE SPELLMAN FILES by Lisa Lutz. He asked me every time I laughed out loud with, "Mommy, are you alright?"

Homework

Every day, at least from Monday to Thursday, I do homework with my kids. I noticed that right about the time I have enough of homework, they're bored too. It makes me wonder why school gave kids homework. Isn't 7 hours in school enough time to learn what they need to learn?

I noticed that my kids homework would last anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour. Sometimes more, especially for my child who's in Talented and Gifted Program. Homework has been around since school was invented I guess, but it seems more prevalent nowwadays. What good does homework does?

Wordless Wednesday

Seriously, it tasted a whole lot better than this picture showed. Lunch date with my husband today.

Mailbox Monday

I found this mailbox while I was driving around town.

On Breastfeeding a Two Year Old

They're a bit more willful than a baby, and therefore just a bit more frustrating to deal with. Also, there's that factor that I'm only doing it because my husband pushes me too. It seems like all my life, I'm propelled by one thing or the other and I just make myself content with it.

Here's why I think it's not a good idea. It's not all about falling for anything just because I might not have conviction, but it's all about letting someone dictate to me. I think I'm starting to resent it, but I'm just too lazy enough to not do anything about it. Besides, I get muscled into my position easily. Strange, but I'm not really angry about it, although sometimes, bile seem to rise from my stomach.

Time For Glasses Again

That's been in my thoughts for days now. I keep forgetting to call the doctor. Just one more bill to take care of, just one more bulk trash to pick, just one more instructions to my yardman, just one more load of laundry.

There! I've forgotten already.

It's Been A While

I meant to include these post in my newer blog, but I haven't been able to because I have no idea how to import it.

The first time I deleted my blog, I wished I had saved a copy of it. Some post there is priceless.

We Call Them Vultures

There is a group of bird who benefits from the flesh of the dead. They get fat on it, thrive on it, and become successful from it. You cannot condemn them, it's how they're made. You can tell by the looks of them that they're vultures. They stay true to their type in looks.

Some people are like that. They get used to the benefits of death and wanted more dead people to fund their lifestyle. If mental torture does not work, they harangue and annoy so much, they're probably hoping you'll kill yourself and make them richer some more.

That's not really surprising. Humans are part of the animal kingdoms after all. If vultures are human, then just the same, they benefit and get rich when someone dies. The big problem with human vulture is they look just like everyone else. They pretend to love, they're like white on rice on their PDA, while at the same time, their hands are slowly, and craftily denuding you of everything, even pride. That's human vulture for you.
