I noticed that with each child, my breastfeeding experience are never the same. For example, my daughter would refuse to look at me, even as she breastfeed off me, if I am late to bring her dinner. I kid you not! Imagine a 4 months old baby snubbing you. She was so displeased with me, she absolutely refused to look at me. It's pretty funny. I can still picture it.
My first son would pinch me if I am loud while feeding him. My second son would make a fist and hit me if he's unhappy with the taste of my milk. My third son would bite me if I hum while he is eating. They did other things, but those were unique to each of my children.
My fourth son has now set the laws of breastfeeding. He's 5 months old, getting ready to sit up. He can now support himself on both hands and on his knees. I might have to lower his crib so he doesn't get any brilliant ideas like jumping off the crib when my back is turned.
I have noticed that I am not supposed to read a book while he's eating. When he's feeding, I am to only look at him in the face, exchange smiles and grins. The moment my hand creeps to pick a book to read, he stops eating, look at me and cry really loud. Below is the first warning look I get if I so much as pick up a book to read it.
When you're a mother, you can start to tell what kind of cry your baby gives you. There a cry for pick-me-up-I'm-bored-here, put-me-down-I-don't-want-to-be-held, or I'm-hungry-come-already, or I-don't-want-that-person-near-me. There is a special cry for everything. When I am breastfeeding him and I pick a book, I get the don't-even-think-about-it cry.
That is rule number 1. No reading while I am feeding his royal-diaperness. That's him below, asleep on the floor while playing. I let him sleep there longer because he's so cute asleep.
I am also starting to notice that another rule is emerging into the picture. No talking, or looking at TV. Even when he's asleep and I look up the TV to catch up on my Grey Anatomy, he'll wake up long enough to glare at me.
Also, another big thing. I must never recline while feeding him. This would make him so unhappy he couldn't possibly eat. All those above, plus no one must stand near his head while he eats or he stops eating and cry instead.
These rules were set down recently, and all by a little baby who couldn't say a word. That's power for you!

my breastfeeding experiences were bad, either.my kids hated me coz no enough milk they could get from me,"my breasts" were just a display,my hubs said, huge but empty.
goodluck to your baby sitting!
Hi Ghee, I actually have 5 kids. 4 boys and a girl.
I noticed that if I just don't work-out very hard to melt the fat, my milk flows. With the others, I went back to gym as soon as two months, and my milk all but dried up by the 5th month.
wow.. cute little children of yours.. ;p
anyway, all child/babies are unique.
"When he's feeding, I am to only look at him in the face, exchange smiles and grins."

have a nice day! *hugs*
cheers,

Hey Shoshana - thanks for visiting my site. I think I share your passion for TV...we like the same stuff! I think your kids breastfeeding habits are hysterical!
Shosh, that is too funny (and familiar). Your DS4 is letting you know he's the prince! My youngest, 18m, won't let me look away from his face when I rock him to sleep. He will not let me read. I can only do that if he's really tired.
I remember some quirks during nursing with both my boys too. It's funny how they develop little demads!
Adorable pictures!
Very funny :) It'll be interesting to see my new baby's demands compared to her sister. Bella was pretty clear early on what she did or did not like!
Hi Jennboree, my kids seem to take awhile before they set down the laws.
I am a little nostalgic that Yoash is now 5 months and getting further and further away from being a new baby.

Hi Ethel, refreshing pod nga nakatagbo ko ug kabalo ug binisaya dinhi. O, i-apil ko sa imong lista. Ako kang idugang sa akong blogroll pod ha?
Children are uniquely funny and entertaining. I have noticed many differences for my children too. My wife tried to follow many of the "rules" and found that as soon as one is followed, another appears. They also know that I dont adhere to their rules and so after a few tries, they dont bother. Lesson learned, if you let them control your actions, they become even more controlling, so do what you want and the kids adjust.
That photo of the baby looking at the camera angle with the book in the background and the commentary is probably the funniest photo I've ever seen. 143
Hey Doc, you're so right about the rules. A new one is being created every day it seems.
A few I follow because it suits me. We're still negotiating on the book thing. He really attached to that one.
Anon, that wasn't even his "real" angry face. He's cute though, isn't he? 143
How funny my little one was just like this. DO NOT even THINK about offering anything else attention while she was feeding, she would go so far as to grab said book and toss it! LOL Can't wait to see what my next one does!
BTW- He is really cute! LOVE the "peeking" picture. That and the floor one, he looks so comfy and yet... how? LOL My daugter actually would rather sleep on the floor, if I pick her up and put her on the couch or whatnot she will get mad, get off and go back to the floor! Maybe they are the same child! LOL
hi T-girl...I know that feeling.
I actually have a brother whose children would consistently sleep in their own cribs/bed. I can only look on enviously as my kids never does that. If they ever do, they stop right around 12 months. They all move to grown up bed.
momsquared, I bet he does know!
Just letting you know that I stopped by...and that's a mighty sweet face to look at while you nurse - what an adorable baby boy!
HI Boomama, thank you for stoping by. :)
This is cute!
