Plush (from French peluche) is a textile having a cut nap or pile the same as fustian or velvet. Originally the pile of plush consisted of mohair or worsted yarn, but now silk by itself or with a cotton backing is used for plush, the distinction from velvet being found in the longer and less dense pile of plush. The material is largely used for upholstery and furniture purposes, and is also much employed in dress and millinery.I am sitting here wondering how can I turn plush into a family theme somehow. Can you tell I like my kids pictures? I might not be able to succeed this time...and man, do I need that new camera. I ended up buying a 7.2 MP Sony Cybershot. I have a Sony before, it's 2.8 MP, and it's what most of my pictures are. I thought it's time to get a new one. I still like my old camera.
I made this baby blanket for DS4. This is crochet. My mother taught me crochet when I was pregnant with DS2. This is one of my first blankets I finished and kept. I usually gave it away as presents to other babies.

Love your commentation about the french word too. :)
So lovely pictures of your children ! Try to loose your camera in front of your garage door, get out with the car, roll over it and I am sure then you would need a new one !
Great pictures. I love the blankets you made. What an awesome talent.
Thanks for stopping by my Blog.
adorable photos of your children :) :) and your crocheted blankets are just beautiful! I particularly like the purple, lime green and pinky/red one :)
Great shots, not only of plush but generally good shots. Really showing the plush theme.
Thank you!
I have so much fun crocheting the blankets!
My kids love Build a Bear toys. It's almost like a religious experience to watch them get one. They absolutely savor it.
Excellent pictures depicting the word plush! I love that you gave us the definition! I love all your photos, but I must say your daughter has just a delightful expression on her face. She is so pretty!
I also learned how to crochet a couple of years ago, I can never find the time now. Yours turned out so cute! :)
Lovely pics of your children. And you are very talented with your crochet works. Happy saturday :)
Beautiful pictures of your children. I really love the blanket you made. The colors are so vibrant. Great choices for plush!
I just love those pictures. Your children are adorable. I know you must be proud of them.
I love to crochet and knit, too. I'm not as good at knitting. I am still learning how to do that.
Thanks for sharing. Have a great weekend!
I am also just learning to knit. I joined this knit-a-dishcloth blogroll, it was fun. Lots of fun. I'll probably do it again...except I get really nervous knitting anything right now.
My seven months old boy is very active, and I just get nervous about active baby and long needles.
I think I am getting better at knitting. I've yet to finish a big blanket, but I have a small blanket.
I wish I could do what you do.
There's nothing nicer than a handmade blanket for a baby gift.
Your kids are adorable.
See you next week.
Frances
So much plush! And all that lovely knitting. I think you must do more than "dabble". Have a great weekend!
Your whole life is plush!
Really cute pictures! With kids that photogenic, you should display their pics any time you can!

"I'm one of those people who waits til something is broken to replace it."
hmmm... i'm not like that. i love replacing my old things even though it's still ok. i dunno. maybe part of me really wants something w/c is always new. blame it on the society w/c started the line "girls competing for something".. haaaaayyy...
knitting? gosh. i've remembered doing that during my elementary years for projects. you know, knitting the sides of the cloth as an added touch? hehe.. i've forgotten long ago how to knit.
tsk tsk..
anyway, have a nice day! *hugs*
cheers,
aiRah

I love the picts!
I have to tell you, we have the same camera and even though the hubby bought me a "professional" digital... I still love my Cybershot though! It is the same one you have I think, it is INDUSTRCTABLE! It is like a timex... takes a lickin' keeps on tickin'!!!!
Oh and hey... nothing wrong with extra shoes! LOL You can NEVER have to many in my book!
Airah, it's not too late! You might be able to lure her into the dark side...err blogging! You never know.
Zingtrial, it's so nice to have you back! Thank you!
T-Girl...so we both have the indestructable camera!
I bought a 7.2 Sony cybershot...it's nice and compact. I'll probably return it and get the 8.1MP Sony. It's more pixels and it's only 40 bucks difference in price.
It's so nice. Now, if I can figure out youtube, and I can find a cute video moment....I can't wait to post one!
Hi Shoshana,
Thanks for coming by my blog!
I love your photos.
Your plush toys and happy kids are great!
Your knitting and chrocheting are wonderful!
The table cloth is lovely.
I have only just started crocheting doilies and lace. I have tatted for a few yrs but I am not too good yet with the fine cotton.
I am not giving up.
My neighbour and I are at the same point in our lives where we have been married almost 25 yrs and we we both need new lace for our dining room tables.
We are practicing now, and we have a project to begin together and we will each meet a few afternoons a week to crochet our new table cloths!
It is fun to have a buddy for big projects that take a lot of hours to complete.
Your pictures of your kids are so beautiful! I LOVE taking and posting pics of my little one. I just have too much anxiety about it to post her face :(. But, I'm happy for you and the rest of the world who enjoy posting pics to their heart's content! Your children are so beautiful! :)
Love the pics. The knitting is way cool. We received tons in unique baby blankets.
Your youngest snoozing so sweetly with the tiny fist is just precious. Until new baby arrived, I'd forgotten just how I love little moments like that!
Great pics with very nice touches. Prelude to a full-blown digital scrapbook addiction? ;-)
hey, i got Sony cybershot 6.0 MB a few months ago and that's after retiring my 35 mm (although it still works and takes great pix) which I used for 5 years???
You're crafty...nice blankets you made there.

i think your cam still works good,i dont buy a new one if the old one still works, neither :)
the pics are so lovely, and you are such creative, knitting and scrapping and crochets, wow!you really have productive time and its a little surprising coz youre raising 5 kids :)
keep it up!!
Lulu...so this is how it's started huh?
Leah, how are you liking your 6.0 MP?
Ghee, it's rather easy. first I make sure my kids go to bed at 730 each night. Which means I'm all theirs from the time they come home til they sleep. That's not much...it's only 3 hours or so. Plus the kids needed to decompress after school...so we have like 2 hours.
When they're in bed, I do my thing...and I get maybe 4-5 hours of sleep.
